ST. VINCENT MEDICAL GROUP EXPANDS WITH 12 NEW PHYSICIANS

St. Vincent Medical Group added a number of new physicians to its ranks in the past year that support key service line growth in the areas of primary care, spine and orthopedics and behavioral health.

Joining the Spine and Orthopedic Institute are James Anderson, M.D., neurosurgery; Bernard Stulberg, MD, orthopedic surgery; and Robert McLain, M.D., orthopedic spine surgery. Dr. Anderson joins St. Vincent Charity from MetroHealth and Drs. Stulberg and McLain from the Cleveland Clinic. George Friedhoff, D.O., joins the institute from a fellowship in sports medicine completed at Ohio Health.

New primary care physicians added to the group are: Ama Paintsil, M.D., internal medicine; and Gary Stabler, M.D., family medicine. Other additions include: Amit Mohan, M.D., psychiatry; Meenu Gaba, M.D., nephrology; Howard Tucker, M.D., neurology; Michael Koch, M.D., cardiology; Robert Steele, M.D., cardiology; Augusto Torres, M.D. and Vijaykumar Vaidya, M.D., general surgery.

“As a physician-led hospital, St. Vincent Charity values the contributions of our physicians to the care of our patients,” said David F. Perse, M.D., president and CEO of St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and of the St. Vincent Medical Group. “We are pleased to find like-minded physicians who choose to work in an employed model that gives them the flexibility to meet patient needs while also growing their practices.”

St. Vincent Charity also accepts independent physicians to its medical staff. Surgeons both employed and independent have the opportunity to perform surgery at the main campus downtown as well as at our new outpatient surgery center on Rockside Road in Independence.

St. Vincent Medical Group (SVMG) is a multi-specialty physician group affiliated with St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in downtown Cleveland with offices in Beachwood, Euclid, Independence, Mentor, Ohio City, Rocky River, Solon and Westlake. Its team of physicians provides a wide range of primary care and specialty care medical services, including: Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Endocrinology, Family Medicine, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedic Surgery, Podiatry/Foot and Ankle Surgery and Psychiatry.
