In addition to announcing our collaboration with Cleveland State University that evening, we were able to honor four individuals who personify the mission and values of our hospital:
- Lloyd Cook, MD – Physician of the Year
- Margaret W. Wong, Esq. – St. Vincent de Paul Award Recipient and SVCMC Board Member
- Mary Martin, RN – Clinical Nursing Excellence Award
- Eugene Jordan – Radiant Spirit Award
With close to 500 people in attendance, this event gave us the opportunity to highlight and educate friends, donors and the community on who we are and what our mission is all about.

Through the commitment of collaborators and partners, planned new development is beginning to take place on East 22nd that will improve the delivery of services to residents of the Central Neighborhood of Cleveland and bring new vibrancy to the area. Together, a group of initiatives, including partnerships, will create a “Health and Healing Hub” in the Central community—providing enhanced health and human services to the residents of Central. Sisters of Charity Health System President and CEO Michael Goar highlights key focus areas in planning for the future
Michael Goar assumed the role of president and CEO of the Sisters of Charity Health System in July. Since then, he has been working with employees and board members to learn about the 173-year history of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine and its ministries enhancing the health and well-being of the communities served, as well as to begin developing a shared vision for the health system.
